Looking Forward... And Back

This blog will provide an outlet for all of the chaos in my head as I take in NYC. It will simultaneously address the NOW and what I hope for the future, as well as regale the past time I have spent here. Sometimes an outsider's perspective creates a fresh lens on something as time-honored as New York City. I think people who grow up here take many things in this environment for granted; that, and I'm just one curious bugger who seems to see the oddest details everywhere I go. I also hope to allow anyone who cares or wants to an opportunity to share my journey. Uprooting one's life to make such a drastic change is sure to bring heartache, discovery, many of those "WTF" moments, and so much more tomfoolery.

I will say this for New York: it really does inspire me. It makes me want to write about it, think about it, look at it, make fun of it, respect it, and marvel at it all at once. It can be a truly overwhelming place: the noise, the pace, the lights, the people. But overall, it's like a tiny globe situated in the United States of America. Anything and everything is happening here, and it's not always good, it's not always pretty, but it's real, true, gritty life. Stick around and find out what sorts of life-changing things may have happened to me, or just what my latest annoyance may be.
